Summer has passed and early autumn is upon us. With the mornings and evenings growing much cooler, the long-awaited hobby season is finally here.
To all our SWS Brothers living in the Northern Hemisphere, how are you doing? And to our Brothers in the Southern Hemisphere, now heading into the eagerly awaited spring, I hope each and every one of you is keeping well.

IPMS Telford in the United Kingdom—the event that will crown 2026—is now just around the corner.

So, in this edition of the Old Man Blog, I will give you an early look at the SWS kits and optional parts that you will be able to take home from the show.
Every one of these items has been gathered together and flown in all the way from Japan in the Far East. For that reason, only a very limited quantity will be available. Please come to the Zoukei-mura booth early, so you will not be disappointed to find that your favorite item has already sold out.

From 3:00 p.m. on the opening day, November 7, the famous IPMS Zoukei-mura booth raffle—where cheers and excitement fill the hall—will once again be held in grand style! The location will be announced on the day, so please keep your eyes and ears open.
To join the raffle, simply fill in the questionnaire distributed at the Zoukei-mura booth that day and place it in the dedicated raffle-entry box. That is all it takes!
For the lucky winners of this laugh-out-loud raffle open to everyone, we have prepared splendid prizes—including SWS kits—to give you both an unforgettable memory and a wonderful prize to take home.
Please come and feel the spirit of Zoukei-mura, traveling all the way from far-off Japan in the Far East to be with you.

Oh, one more thing! This year’s raffle draw will be handled by my son, Kuniyoshi, who has become president of VOLKS Inc., Zoukei-mura’s parent company. He will continue working to make SWS more exciting than ever, so please give him your warm support.

▋Built using photographs of the actual aircraft as a reference, in response to a request from the Smithsonian.
The result is a truly one-of-a-kind model—there is simply no other like it in the world!
For details that were difficult to make out in the photographs, we drew on the helpful advice of the Smithsonian staff and on the aircraft as it appears today on display in the museum, where our development team carried out a thorough examination of the actual aircraft. We carefully researched the markings, even creating brand-new decals to bring this model to completion.

A Zoukei-mura 1/48 F-4S Phantom at the Smithsonian in the United States!!

Yes, it is true! Can you imagine it? The Smithsonian in the United States—an institution we admire and respect, and one that has always treated us so kindly during our research of actual aircraft such as the Shinden, Toryu, He 219, Ho 229, and many more—contacted us directly with a request for a completed SWS 1/48 F-4 Phantom to display inside the museum!
Naturally, we welcomed the request with open arms!
And so, Zoukei-mura called upon Mr. Naoki Kobayashi, the master entrusted with building our completed SWS display models!
Using detailed paint-reference materials supplied by the museum, he was able to finish a truly magnificent model.

If you ever have the chance to visit the Smithsonian, please do not forget to seek out the F-4S donated by Zoukei-mura.

From here on, the temperature will continue to fall, and the cold winter will soon be upon us once again.
